Hey everyone!
This summer I finally realized the hype around linen. When I lived in Hawaii, I saw pretty much every adult wearing linen pants and shirts all the time. I thought it was just a fashion choice. I had a pair of linen pants because a super cool girl in my community college Hawaiian History class wore some (yes, I got army pants and flip flops because I saw Cady Herron wearing army pants and flip flops…#meangirls) and a linen tunic, but I never saw the benefit.
Now that I am an adult, I understand that linen is a FUNCTIONAL fashion choice.
When it’s 100 degrees and you’ve got to be outside, nothing will keep you as cool as linen. And better yet, a jumpsuit is just one simple piece without zippers and waistbands and stuffy necklines.
I paired this beige linen jumpsuit with a straw hat and suede espadrilles. These suede espadrilles are the most comfortable heels I own. I think a jumpsuit like this calls for some kind of heel, since it’s not the most structured piece.
I got the hat last summer at World Market. Don’t you just love it there? I love looking at all the candy and velvet furniture, all in one place. And they have some affordable fashion, too. The shoes were a gift to myself after a particularly rough morning at work- I had a crazy opening, and headed promptly to Steve Madden on my lunch break. Retail therapy!

These pics were taken in downtown Austin by the pedestrian bridge. It was a super hot, humid, breezy day before a storm rolled in. And I was chilling! Thank you, linen! Even strolling on the pedestrian bridge in the direct sun, I wasn’t too hot.
Right after this, I went to get iced coffee. What coffees do you order in the summer? I usually stick to an iced caramel macchiatto and I use my own glass straw ordered off Amazon. I wrap it in a napkin and put it in the bottom of my purse to wash at home when I’m done with my drink. Being an environmentalist isn’t always convenient!
Do you own any linen? How about a jumpsuit? I’ve got to admit, I’ve been feeling the jumpsuit vibes this year. I own at least three now. So breezy and fun! And when you can find them online for less than $50, why not give the look a shot?
Have an awesome week!
