I have been writing a ton lately (working on my second book!) and really loving it. I know that I will write even more when I’m back out at school, since there’s nothing like LESS time to make my brain really want to dive into a story.
This writing flow has also inspired me to take some time and tie some loose ends for my first novel. And today, I created my spotlight page! So now accessing my novel is easier than ever. Also, this is where you’ll be able to find NEW GIRL RULES when I finish & publish that one.

In the past year, dozens of people have reported back to me that they loved my book. I’ve had women from 19 to 64 read it, and tell me it kept them up late into the night, reading it in bed, dying to know what happens to Callie next.
INTO THE OCEAN has been used as a book club choice, and has sparked interest in the Young Adult genre for people who thought they were too old, or that YA wasn’t for them. Also, I’ve heard from infrequent readers, people who don’t think reading is fun (and after one too many sociology text books, I feel like I agree sometimes), and they have said once they started Into The Ocean, they couldn’t resist!
I’ve gotten letters from men in their twenties & beyond (Men! Who would have thought that men would read a teen fiction novel!?) telling me that they read my book and loved it, and laughed out loud while reading. Three of the guys, one a Hawaiian, one a professor who used to live in Honolulu, and one a world traveler, all said that the dialogue, and the conversations in the local Hawaiian slang of Pidgin was their favorite part.
The most common review I’ve heard is that people read my book in rapid time– ordering it, receiving it, and blowing through it in 12 hours, or 2 days. An entire plane ride, or a whole weekend, where they can’t put it down. I LOVE hearing this. Those are the kind of books I’m always looking for myself!
So, check it out! And enjoy.
Email me at intotheoceanwriter@gmail.com if you’ve read it and have a review to share. I would LOVE to hear from you!
Thank you so much if you’ve read it, supported me, told a friend, lent your copy, retweeted my links, liked the book on Facebook, or even read this whole blog post. Being a self published writer isn’t the easiest thing in the world, but it is definitely my favorite. Thank you especially to anyone who has taken the time to tell me what it meant to you or what you thought. You help me through the hard days at my desk, and keep me going. You’re the best, and I couldn’t do it without you guys! Thank you again.
