Hi everyone!
I still get visitors to my blog even when I’m a jerk and don’t post for 19 days! So I wanted to sit down real quick and write a post. It has been too long, and I appreciate you guys checking out my archives. I miss blogging and have been away for three reasons!
REASON 1!
I got a job! Yay! I have actually been working at this company for about a month, and I got my official “You’re Hired!” call on October 20th. I am working as a sales associate at the first ever Erin Condren retail store. EC has been an online retailer for years, and they’re a huge brand. They are famous for their Life Planners. Erin Condren sells notebooks, planners, accessories, and all kinds of other stuff in amazing prints, and it can be personalized and customized. They’ve had their flagship store in the works for about a year and a half, and we’re in the final stages now. Without an actual store to work at, I’ve been getting my hours in their Austin offices, including working in the factory! I’ve worked the production line and have helped get everything ready for the store opening, which has been great. Our team is all women, which rules.
Now we’re actually heading towards the exciting opening, and I’m heading off to the actual store for the first time in an hour!
REASON 2!
I’ve been using so much of my energy working, and then in my personal life I’m making huge strides. I never like to get too personal about my struggles, since I tend to be pretty private for a person who has a blog and Instagram (haha), but I do want you to know that you can heal your pain and change your life. For me, it’s been all about therapy. If there’s a huge obstacle or pain you’re up against, find a therapist you gel with. It’s not an always an easy process to find a therapist who fits all your needs, but if you’ve been considering it, or you’re at a loss, consider this your push to try therapy.
REASON 3!
The last reason I haven’t been blogging at my normal pace is that I haven’t been taking as many pictures! OMG, my fellow bloggers know that even a wordy post needs some pics. And as a beauty blogger, good pics are everything! I look through my camera roll on my phone, and I see I haven’t been documenting my hair, makeup, outfits, or nails with any consistency. Tell me you guys do this too! I will do my makeup a new way, or experiment with my hair… and then I take it off at the end of the night and realize I didn’t snap a single shot to document it. That’s got to change!
What are your favorite kinds of pics to take? Are you much of an iPhone photographer?
With everything going on in the holiday season, it’s important that we stay connected to who we are and what’s important to us. Some families are complicated, and I hope everyone out there stays true to themselves as much as they can as we go from Thanksgiving to Christmas (and all of the other winter season holidays!). This can be a hard time of year for some people, for lots of different reasons, and I’m here for you. If you need me, you can always get in touch via email- I’m good about checking that (contact@taylordorothy.com).
Happy holidays and thank you so much for reading!
