Today I wanted to share one of the greatest hot pinks in my collection. It’s shiny, it’s neon, and it’s so stunning in the summertime. You need to get this one- a true must have!
It’s China Glaze’s YOU DRIVE ME COCONUTS!
❀ First, what a cute name. I think it’s just so fun and lighthearted.
This color is from China Glaze’s Sunsational collection, which had some of my favorite polishes. This pink is INTENSE. It would be a great choice for a pedicure, that’s for sure. And I love it on shorter nails. But best of all is this hot, hot pink on slightly longer nails. Whenever I have this on, I just stare at my manicure. It’s so pretty, feminine, and vivid.
About the formula:
The formula is great!! This really does wonders for China Glaze’s on-again-off-again reputation with me (for example: Grass is Lime Greener– lots of coats. Thistle Do Nicely– much better). This color is opaque and perfect in two coats. I topped it with a top coat, of course, to bring the glossy drama.
The closest color I have to Drive Me Coconuts is Fancy Fuchsia by Orly, which is one of my all time favorite nail polishes. That one doesn’t have the very subtle shimmer or neon China Glaze punch that Coconuts does. They’re both bright, neon, bubble gum pinks with very different finishes and to me, different purposes (Fancy is more all-purpose girly, whereas Coconuts is for a hot day when you want compliments lol). Rose Among Thorns by China Glaze also seems similar, but that formula isn’t as good!
This color just screams summer to me-
Barbecues, sundresses, pool parties, icy drink in hand. All that good stuff. This is one to pack on your beach trip! Lots of people on my nails Instagram agreed with me and said this is one of their favorite hot pinks of all time. It’s for sale on Amazon for less than $6 bucks! Let me know if you have this one or pick it up. I know you’ll love it!
Happy July and happy 4th of July weekend, too! I hope you have some fun plans and the sun comes out. I’ll be hiking and hitting the pool! I also have to figure out where I’m seeing the fireworks on Tuesday, what I’m going to wear, and what nail polish I’ll be picking for my 4th of July mani! Stay tuned 😉
Have a great Saturday!
