💘 Rainy Day Party Makeup

Hey everyone!

I love no makeup-makeup, don’t you? It reminds me of being a teenager with no makeup skills to speak of 😂. But for real, when you have lots of makeup in your collection and decent enough skills, sometimes it can be fun to do a more natural looking face.

I don’t mean I’m not wearing a lot of makeup- I just mean I’m using my full face of makeup to look natural. Oh, you get it. After a week in a row of doing bold-ass purple eyeshadow looks and sharp wings and contour, it was fun to play with a sweeter look.

I had a party at Scott’s boss’s house, so a flushed, natural face felt appropriate (compared to the highlighted and contoured rose gold looks I’d rocked at work the day before!).

TIPS FOR A SWEETER/MORE NATURAL MAKEUP LOOK:

-Get your skin tone even & glowing. I love It Cosmetics CC Cream and Nars Creamy Radiant concealer. Use bronzer if you’re on the pale side!

-Cream blush is perfect for a look like this. I’ve been loving Benefit Cosmetic’s Benetint liquid blush. I used a beauty blender to blend the liquid blush out.

-Lip gloss is a must. I love Nars lip gloss in Orgasm and Lancome Juicy Tubes in Carmel Gossip.

-Don’t do liquid liner! But tightline as always. Use a great mascara and natural colored eyeshadow.

-Line your lower waterline in a pale color. I love the NYX Faux Whites liners in Linen and Baby Blue.

Onto the outfit! I had a hard time deciding what to wear. I was watching Mamma Mia on Netflix (finally! I’ve only seen half of it like ten years ago!) so I wanted to wear overalls and a white blouse. But sadly that’s not the vibe of the party we were going to!!

This was my full outfit. I wore my Steve Madden Sway espadrilles, favorite Forever 21 wrap dress, and a low ponytail. I always wear a bralette under this dress, and went with minimal jewelry.

Since this look, I’ve been obsessed with recreating it. Do you ever get in a makeup groove where you recreate the same look a bunch? I have been feeling the no liquid liner look for a few days now. Although sometimes I feel incomplete without a cat eye.
