Mermaid Makeup with Super Shock Eyeshadows ⚡️

Hey everyone!

This week I’ve been so inspired with my makeup! I placed a Colourpop order recently  and have been experimenting a ton. Whenever I get new eyeshadow, it totally reinvigorates my makeup routine. Does that happen to you? Besides, I think anyone would be inspired by the three Super Shock Eyeshadows I got!

THE SHADOWS

The gold: Telepathy

The rose gold: Weenie

The blue-green: Banana Daiquiri

WHAT ARE THEY?

Colourpop’s Super Shock eyeshadows are just $5, first of all. And they’re completely unlike any other normal shadow. From Colourpop’s website:

Our revolutionary creme-powder eyeshadow, famous for its unique bouncy texture, delivers bold colour in a soft pearl finish in one swipe without creasing, fading or fallout.

So they’re like a cream shadow, except they don’t smear and travel around your lids (does that happen to anyone else?) and work very well when applied with a synthetic brush or fingers.

I always start with my Urban Decay eyeshadow primer for any eyeshadow look. I used all my normal makeup products, as well. I list them all on The Go-To section of my blog.

The whole focus was going to be on Banana Daiquiri. I just knew it when I started my makeup. As excited as I am about a rose gold and a yellowy neon, I wanted to see what I could do with this mermaid blue!

THE LOOK!

Big, bold mermaid eyes with soft brows, matte skin, and a glossy lip!

First I used my favorite every day palette and applied a neutral pale beige matte shadow all over my brow bone, and a matte pale peach all over my lid as a base. Then in my crease I applied a peach shade as a transition color. You can’t see it in any of the photos under the brown, but it is what allowed the brown to look so smooth instead of harsh! I never skip my transition color for this reason.

I applied Banana Daiquiri all over my lid with my finger, and blended into some white shimmer shadow in the inner corner and some darker brown in the outer corner. I used my MAC 217 blending brush to buff it all out, and the teal blended nicely into the dark brown. I applied more light brown into the crease to really bring the look together. Just bright aqua shadow on its own looks a little juvenile, and blending it with the brown makes it a look.

I applied a bit of Banana Daiquiri to my lower lash line, as well, since I wanted this to be a really bold look. I also put some light brown on my lower lash line using a skinny little smudge brush. I used a cream pencil to line my lower rim and brighten the whole look.

What do you think of this look? I am really proud of how it came out! It was definitely a departure for me.

Oh and PS my manicure is Rock N Royale by China Glaze, which is my official favorite fall nail polish!

Have you ever ordered from Colourpop?

Let me know what you think! Should I keep doing colorful looks like this?
